Well done to Labour's very popular local campaigner candidate Gerri Birdon for such a credible result.
This week Labour took control of Exeter, Blackburn and the Tory/Lib Dem Coalition lost control of Wolverhampton.
Also of note was an excellent result in Worksop where Labour beat the hated Tories who run Nottinghamshire Councty Council.
