NUAW 1948 Report
The National Union of Agricultural Workers (N.U.A.W.) employed thirty seven organisers in 1948, during that year they travelled a total of 422,976 miles, held 5,978 meetings and made 10,683 visits to members, according to the Union's Annual Report.
Four hundred and sixteen new branches of the National Union of Agricultural Workers (N,U.A.W.) were opened during the year (1948), making a total of 3,554 branches and 30,000 new members enrolled.
It was reported that three hundred and twenty members were being evicted from tied cottages were handled and legal representation provided.
