Robert Blatchford
A culinary apple.

Raised at Hunstanton in 1914 by nurseryman Frederick Chilvers by crossing the UK varieties Rev. W. Wilkes and Blenheim Orange.

Named after the Editor of ‘The Clarion’ newspaper, who also taught locally at Harry Lowerison's, progressive Ruskin School at Heacham, Norfolk and organiser of the Clarion Field Clubs

A large pale-yellow apple which keeps its shape when cooked.
Said to be pleasant, slightly acidic, flavour.
